Something shifts beneath

Father told me never to go down our old basement, but I wanted to know the noise, which came constantly throughout the night. It kind of sounds like a cat meowing, and I wanted to see the cat so I opened the basement door and tiptoed down a bit.
I didn’t see any cat, as father yanked me out of the basement and yelled at me. Mommy never yelled at me ever before, and it made me cry. Then father told me never to go down there, ever and gave me a cookie.
That made me feel better, so I didn’t ask him why the girl in the basement was making noises like a cat, or why she had no hands and feet with blood flowing from eyes like tears.

  1. A great piece of writing! You freaked me out with only a few words…Words have the power to do that! 😉
I’m new to blogging and I’d really appreciate if you could take a look at my blog and the three posts that I’ve uploaded yet.

And the latest post, The Dark Alley, was my first shot at writing a short story so I’d gladly welcome some constructive feedback or suggestions.
    Happy reading! 🙂
